Terracotta Moon Jar no.19

Local Terracotta clay from my island home, Crete, white slip.
The same clay is used by traditional potters on the island, to make the traditional Cretan terracotta pots and pithoi.
I was inspired to use this terracotta clay to create a series of small moon jars with a contemporary feel, focusing on surface and texture. They are perfect for displaying as sculptural objects.
